For action players
Zenless Zone Zero
If you live for perfect dodges and clean combos, start here. HoYoverse's action RPG runs on short, dense missions instead of a giant map, and combat is all about timing: dodge, parry, swap Agents, then dump damage while the enemy is stunned. It is a gacha game, but there is no PvP, so spending never beats another player.

Arknights: Endfield
Real-time squad fights with four characters, plus a full factory layer: conveyor belts, mining, automated crafting. If you have ever lost a weekend to a factory game, Endfield will hook you. The catch: lots of menus to learn early on.

For open-world explorers
NTE: Neverness to Everness
An Unreal Engine 5 city where supernatural anomalies are part of daily life. You run, climb, drive, decorate a home and team up in co-op for up to four players. Steam players rate it Very Positive. It is also the most demanding game on this list, by far.

For collectors who play in short bursts
Raid: Shadow Legends
Hundreds of champions, turn-based fights, auto-battle and daily goals. Raid is built for 15-minute sessions, and the real game is team building and gear. The monetization pressure is real, so set a budget before your first purchase or commit to playing fully free.

For strategy and alliance players
Rise of Kingdoms
Pick a historical civilization, grow a city and march armies across a shared real-time map. Big fights are won by coordinated alliances, so this is a long game with a social core. Spenders do get an edge in large wars.

Star Trek Fleet Command
Build a starbase, crew legendary officers and fight for territory with your alliance. It runs on modest hardware and has an official Mac client, though Scopely is dropping Intel Macs in 2027.

Sea of Conquest: Pirate War
Upgrade your flagship, recruit a crew of legendary captains and fight for the seas with your guild. It is lighter and more casual than Rise of Kingdoms, which is exactly the point if you want strategy without homework.

Project Entropy
A sci-fi MMO strategy game with alien civilizations, hero fleets and mechs. Steam reviews are Mixed, so treat it as a try-before-you-commit pick. Its big win: it runs on almost anything.
